Shining force neo Shining Force Neo is a 'hack'n' slash' action RPG for the Playstation 2. Shining Force Neo plays drastically different from the previous Shining Force sub-entries. The battles, instead, take place in real time with the player in control of the main character, Max. Shining Force Neo (シャイニング・フォース ネオ, Shainingu Fōsu Neo) is an action role-playing game co-developed by Neverland and published by Sega in 2005 for the Sony PlayStation 2 as a part of the Shining series.

Someone stole my account and Zanicus conveniently immediately invited them and promoted them to the highest rank of his guild after emptying my vault and destroying my artwork

He says he doesn’t know anything about it and I kind of believe him, but I’m just making this post to say make sure you know who you invite into your guild and give access to everything in the vault. Cause it sure as fuck wasn’t me, but I was happy to take all my stuff back

So the sling would be a projectile/throwing weapon, and if your hands are full when you pick it up, it’s goes into your inventory as a container to hold ‘ammo’. Anything you throw with it (assuming it doesn’t break like an egg would) can be picked back up and thrown again, but enemies could also pick it up

It would be for, obviously eggs and snowballs since those are already throwables, but for other stuff it could use rocks, spiked balls, possibly potions, or just any 1 pixel item

  • Throwing eggs I think would be about as funtional as it is now, but if you let an egg rot and throw it at a living/humanoid enemy it has a chance to make them puke and end any potion effects they’ve got on. I think eggs would have to stop auto-reloading in your hands if a sling was added so there would actually be a purpose for this part
  • Rocks could drop from orcs in the stony field and would just be plain damage. Spiked balls would have to be a rare drop I think, since once you get one you can use it infinitely as long as it doesn’t get lost/stolen, and you’d be able to see it with metal detect so losing it wouldn’t be a huge issue
  • Potions could have a 50/50 chance to shatter and deal damage and maybe cause bleeding, or give the person/creature a weakened effect of the potion (speed but it doesn’t last as long as if you drank it, stone skin but with less defense and slightly faster movement). I dunno how this would work with hitting friendly players, since it could potentially help them or kill them

Other single pixel items could have unique effects.

  • Brains/hearts could cause human enemies to puke (but not orcs since they probably wouldn’t care).
  • Snake fang would cause poison.
  • Gems (including sun/moon stones and blue bee shells) could charm an enemy for a certain amount of time, maybe based on their value.
  • Rat teeth could have a very small chance to give disease.
  • Frags and hooves would be damage
  • Charms could have effects based on the individual charm, or just work like gems
  • Bat fang could have a chance to do a drain attack, and whoever picks up the fang gets the health from it

I made a reddit post about this years ago, but I don’t think I ever posted it on my blog, so this is Ratingar’s story according to Squidbit:

When you get Ratingar drunk and kill him, he says “I love you Inala” as his final words. Obviously this suggests there’s some history there. He also used to work for Sholop when he was younger. “I used to employ Ratingar when he was a lad. He was a hard worker and a fine lad. I don’t know what happened to him.”

I’m thinking that when he was working for Sholop, he had a crush on Inala. He wanted her to love him back, so he crafted a small sash for her as a token of his love. But then when he gave it to her, she gave him the old “Greetings Ratingar. You are sweet, but we barely know each other.”

Ratingar, heartbroken, turned to a life of crime, taking out his anger on young champions. After a while, he had a respectable group of rogues and thieves put together. Then Darklow got run out of town and joined the rogues. Darklow wanted revenge, though, and tried to get Ratingar to attack the town. Of course he refused, he would never do anything to hurt Inala. So Darklow left them, too, and went to live alone where he could make his own rules.

So now Ratingar lives in the rogue den, just waiting for death, since he knows he can never be with the woman he loves. “Peace at last”

A bunch of cacti, based on jaxzaberothz’s idea

It’d also be cool (and a lot of work for simple) if they bloomed after a certain amount of time. Then a while after that the flowers fall off/start to wither, and then the rot timer is started on them

I dunno what the saguaro or barrel cactus flowers would be for, but the prickly pears (dark red) could have a really fast rot timer so you could basically only use them as you find them, and they deal a little bit of damage but cure thirst

In real life, saguaro cacti take 40+ years to bloom. Maybe it could be the same in aberoth time and collecting the flowers wouldn’t have any real purpose other than being able to say you have them, kinda like snowballs. Maybe wear them in your hair as a hat, or give them to Inala so maybe she’ll finally love you

If I remember correctly, Aberoth time is 10x faster than real time, so just for context if they had been in the game from day one, they would have only bloomed once so far, *maybe* twice
